OSS2 The only vest type spinal immobilisation device that meets all established criteria for immobilisation of the seated patient.

With the OSS2 in place maintaining spinal immobilisation there is no restriction of access for defibrillation, ECG monitoring and all other diagnostic and treatment procedures. Correct application of OSS2 does not compromise respiration and does not allow the device to move on the patient preventing compression and elongation of the cervical spine. 

Unlike some other devices the groin straps do not compress the genitalia or cause pain when patient is laid supine. The unique collar strap design provides for maximum immobilisation without affecting free movement of the jaw during airway maintenance. The OSS2 can be adapted to the patient who is pregnant or who has clavicular fractures/s. Firm flat pads behind the head replace the common soft neck roll, preventing accidental hyperextension and loosening of head straps when the patient is laid down.
The OSS2 is radiolucent. OSS2 is the only vest type spinal immobilisation device approved by the U.S. Defense Medical Standardisation Board .
