Founded in 1989 as Wilderness Survival our mission was to provide the Emergency service community with high quality, clinically effective advice, training and equipment at a very reasonable price.

Ten years on we see no reason to vary from the mission first established in 1989.

The founders were three idealistic and entrepreneurial Ambulance paramedics from Tasmania who were frustrated that there was a range of niche emergency service products available overseas that no one was importing into Australia.

Our founders were John Richardson, Neale Smith and Phil Brumby.

Several changes of name and ownership led to a new company identity being created in 1996, Emergency, Medical & Rescue Systems.. This name reflects the precise nature of the organisation.

The company specializes in the supply of high quality and innovative Emergency Care, Medical and Rescue Consultancy ,Equipment supplies, and Training.

We aim to supply the best possible quality products and services at a very reasonable price. We would prefer to NOT provide a service nor sell an item the does not meet or exceed our clients need.

We prefer to recommend items that can be utilized for multiple functions rather than individual items that do just ONE task.

A large amount of our time is spent talking with our clients to develop a needs analysis and task analysis so that the "best fit" solution can be found.
